The Digital Strike Counter

The Digital Strike Counter is a quick and easy way to measure the success of your trap. When it feels the trap move from a strike it will record it on the light up counter, letting you know how many pests you're killing even when you're not around. Scavenging by cats and other animals is very common, so you won't always have a carcass to let you know your trap has been visited. The Digital Strike Counter also lets you know if your gas is getting low, just keep a note of how many strikes were on the counter when you replaced your gas. You’ll know to install a new CO2 canister if your record 24 strikes before your recommended 6 month top up.

You can buy a Digital Strike Counter on our website or through one of our retailers.

Installing your Digital Strike Counter

Refer to this video guide, or read the instructions below

Before you add the counter to your trap, make sure you have already attached the gas canister, as this is what the Strike Counter will attach to.

  1. Slightly wet the inside of the rubber strap for lubrication.
  2. Next, rotate the counter anti-clockwise as you ease it up the gas canister. You don't want to accidentally unscrew the gas from the trap as this will completely expend the canister. The counter display must face directly away from the trap.
  3. Your Strike Counter might have recorded some movement on its journey to your trap. Reset the counter by holding the button until the display reverts to zero.
  4. You can now test fire the trap and watch your Counter at work!

Checking and Resetting the Counter

To check the tally on your Digital Strike Counter push and quickly release the button. A number will light up to show you how many times the trap has fired. This number displayed is the total strikes since the Counter was last reset, not since the last time you checked it.

To reset the Counter, just hold the button until the display reverts to zero.

Using your Digital Strike Counter with your A24 Trap

The A24 Trap can trigger up to 24 times per CO2 canister. However we recommend replacing your paste and CO2 canister every six months whether or not your Digital Counter indicates 24 kills.

By following these guidelines you will ensure your Trap has enough pressure to deliver a humane kill whenever a pest enters the trap, and remains in top shape. It will also ensure you remain covered by our manufacturer’s warranty which is valid for 2 years from the date of purchase.

You'll likely find it the most convenient to replace your CO2 canister and paste at the same time so you know your trap is always ready and will provide you with constant control.

When you’re ready to replace your CO2 canister you will need to take the Digital Strike Counter off first. To remove your Counter, rotate it anti-clockwise while easing it downwards.

Digital Strike Counter Battery

The battery in the counter can last for up to 5 years. The device spends most of its time sleeping as it only uses power when the trap strikes or when you check the tally, so a more active trap will use the battery faster. If the display on your Digital Strike Counter shows Lo it’s telling you the battery is finally running out. The batteries in the Digital Strike Counter cannot be replaced, so this notification lets you know it’s time to purchase a new counter online or through one of our retailers.  Alternatively you can use this opportunity to get our newest smart accessory, the Smart Cap. The Smart Cap uses Bluetooth to send you live alerts whenever you get a strike, gives you the power to track your kills and much more! Take a look at this article for more information about what the Smart Cap can provide you.
