Can I use my own lure in the Goodnature Mouse Trap?

You certainly can! The only thing we don’t recommend using is any liquids as this can cause damage to the Goodnature Mouse Trap. If you don’t want to use our Doughnuts, other lures we recommend are peanut butter or hazelnut spread. Mice love these but you will just need to make sure you replace them every 3-4 days to keep the lure attractive. Other options you can try are nuts, seeds, pet food biscuits or dried meat.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you are prefeeding, to make sure that whatever lure you are using in the trap is also the same lure you are using to prefeed. For example, if you have peanut butter inside the trap you will also need to use peanut butter as prefeed in front of the trap. If you use nuts or seeds as prefeed when there is peanut butter in the trap, the mice will get used to the different prefeed instead of what’s in the trap and be less likely to go inside.
