How to test-fire safely

If you don’t have a Smart Cap, read on!
Remove the shroud cap and automatic paste pump. Reach a pen or twig down through the top of the trap and push the trigger gently to the side. The striker will fire with a bang and then retract. Always keep your hands clear of the trap entrances and always treat the trap as live.
If your trap doesn't fire it has run out of gas at an earlier point. Install a new CO2 canister to power up the trap. It's a good idea to test fire your trap after installing a new CO2 canister to ensure it is working as it should. If there is a counter on your trap it will record a strike when your trap fires.
